WHEN HENRY MET

Joni Mitchell

"I got to know Joni Mitchell when David Crosby brought her to Mama Cass' house for a picnic in 1968.

She played her first album sitting on the grass, under the trees, while we all listened in amazement. Since that day, I've photographed her many times.

My favorite pictures of her are when she was looking out the window of her house in Laurel Canyon ...sometimes referred to as "Our House," after Graham Nash wrote the song about living there together with "two cats in the yard."

Joni Mitchell is the songbird of our generation and a true "Lady of the Canyon.""
